Safari Diving is a recognized teaching establishment of the Royal Yachting Association. What does RYA recognition mean? RYA recognition of powerboating schools means that you can expect to be taught by an experienced powerboat instructor and a sound craft, to courses within the RYA and DTP Cruising Proficiency Scheme. Our establishment is inspected regularly to ensure that the training craft and instructors meet the high standard required by the RYA and the Department of Transport. The RYA also carries out spot inspections during courses to check the level of tuition and condition of the craft. So why not come and improve or learn navigation skills and boat handling with our friendly staff aboard our boats (RIB). A full range practical courses are available for power boating. The durations for Powerboat Scheme Level 1- 1 day, Level 2- 2 days, Safety Boat - 2 days, Advanced - 2 days. The Coastal Waters Helmsmans Certificate is 1 - 2 day course depending on the students ability.

Level 1 - The course is based heavily towards practical training and so the time in the classroom is quote limited.
Practical: Preparation of boat, High speed turns, Boat handling, Man over board, Leaving and coming alongside, Being towed, Onshore teaching, Rules of the road, Safety on board, Engines, Types of craft. This RYA level 1 course encompass the introduction to powerboating and will be conducted in a planning boat. On the end of this day the student will be awarded with the RYA level 1 powerboat certificate. Price: € 300

Level 2 - National Powerboat Certificate International Certificate Of Competence (ICC)
Practical: Preperation of boat, Launch and recovery, High speed turns, Securing to a buoy, Boat handling underway, Man over board, Leaving and coming alongside, Being towed, Anchoring, Disabled craft, Coastal boathandling, Onshore Teaching, Rules of the road, Safety on board, Engines and drives, Types of craft, Ancillary and safety equipment, Basic understanding of charts, Basic understanding tides and tidal streams. This RYA level 2course encompass the introduction to powerboating and will be conducted in a planning boat. On the end of this course the student will be awarded with the RYA level 2powerboat certificate. Price: € 495

Level 3 - Safety boat coxswain
Practical: Preparation, Boat handling, Dinghy rescue, Windsurfer rescue, Kayak or Canoe rescue, Towing
Onshore Teaching: Safety, Suitability of craft, Local factors, Communication, Rescuing other water users.
This RYA level Safety boat coxswain course will be conducted in a planning boat. On the end of this course the student will be awarded with the RYA level Safety boat coxswain powerboat certificate. Price: € 650
