Pamukkale Travertine Terraces

Pamukkale is world-renowned for its natural hot springs, famed for their therapeutic qualities. Rich in minerals—especially calcium—the thermal waters have, over thousands of years, created the striking white travertine terraces that define the landscape. During the Pamukkale Day Trip from Alanya, you’ll have the chance to walk barefoot across these incredible limestone formations, soak in the warm waters, and take in the same breathtaking scenery that once captivated ancient Romans.

Ancient Pool of Pamukkale

Also known as Cleopatra’s Pool, this ancient thermal spring maintains a soothing temperature of 36°C throughout the year. Legend has it that Cleopatra herself bathed here, drawn by the pool’s rejuvenating properties. In the 7th century BC, a powerful earthquake caused the land to collapse, and the resulting cavity was filled with mineral-rich thermal water—forming the pool we see today. Modern scientific studies support the belief in its healing benefits, particularly for cardiovascular, dermatological, ocular, and neurological ailments. Floating above submerged ancient columns in this historic and therapeutic pool is sure to be one of the highlights of your trip.

Hierapolis Ancient City

Founded over 2,000 years ago during the Kingdom of Pergamon, the ancient city of Hierapolis developed as a prominent spa centre adjacent to the famous Pamukkale travertines. In Roman times, it earned the title of "Sacred City" due to its many religious structures. People from all over the Roman Empire made their way to Hierapolis to worship at its temples and enjoy the healing waters of the thermal springs. Nowadays, visitors can stroll through the ruins of ancient temples, bathhouses, and places to stay, soaking up the incredible atmosphere of this amazing spot.
